Tax Lawyer – 1-3 Years PQE – Kyiv

About the role

We are looking for a motivated tax lawyer to join our Commercial/Tax team in Kyiv. The role focuses on tax advisory for complex cross-border, regulatory and transactional projects, supporting senior lawyers and delivering pragmatic, commercially-aware advice to clients across multiple sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Research and draft tax advice for M&A, greenfield/brownfield investments, IFI financing and other commercial transactions.
• Prepare tax memoranda, structuring notes and client correspondence, and assist with commercial contracts in close cooperation with partners.
• Provide tax analysis on Ukrainian and cross-border matters, including double tax treaty applications, permanent establishment assessments and compliance.
• Support large-scale energy and infrastructure projects, financing structures and technology-focused businesses, ensuring tax input throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with 1–3 years post-qualification experience in tax advisory (law firm, Big 4 or comparable environment).
• Strong business English and excellent Ukrainian language skills, with the ability to communicate succinctly with clients.
• Proven ability to manage competing demands, work independently and as part of a team, and deliver structured written analysis under supervision.

Required skills

• Solid grounding in Ukrainian corporate income tax (CIT), value-added tax (VAT) and withholding tax (WHT).
• Experience with cross-border tax structuring, double tax treaty application and permanent establishment analysis.
• Ability to draft, review and negotiate commercial or project agreements with tax implications.
