Security Associate – Temporary (364 days)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Security Associate to support the Security Officer in ensuring the safety of staff, their eligible family members, and UNICEF assets in Ukraine. This is a temporary, 364‑day appointment based in Kharkiv (with duties also covering Dnipro).

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of security plans and procedures.
• Provide operational support for safety and security services, including incident reporting and response.
• Maintain security networking systems and ensure up‑to‑date information flow.
• Support knowledge‑management activities and contribute to capacity‑building initiatives for staff.
• Carry out administrative tasks related to security documentation and compliance with UN security policies.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to follow precise instructions and adhere to UN security policies.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience working in a security or safety environment, preferably in humanitarian or international settings.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the Security Officer and other stakeholders.
