Human Resources Officer

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council is seeking a Human Resources Officer to support HR operations in its Mykolaiv office. You will provide HR guidance, manage recruitment, and ensure compliance with Ukrainian labour law while supporting staff throughout the humanitarian programme.

Key responsibilities

• Provide HR advice on policies, procedures and employee concerns.
• Lead recruitment activities: post jobs, screen candidates, conduct interviews and perform reference checks.
• Assist workforce planning and align job descriptions with the organisational structure.
• Prepare bi‑monthly timesheets and supply payroll‑related inputs.
• Maintain personnel files, HR documentation and ensure accurate record‑keeping.
• Process hiring, transfers, contract extensions and terminations in line with labour regulations.
• Compile annual leave balance summaries, issue internal HR orders and coordinate archiving with the Country Office.
• Act as HR system user: manage contracts, review leave requests and administer benefits.
• Coordinate HR documentation flow with other DRC offices.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in HR management, administration or related fields.
• University degree in HR Management, Labour Economics, Law, Documentation or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of Ukrainian labour law and HR administration processes.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Experience with HRIS/ERP systems.
• HR data management proficiency.
